Once the tiles are on, you can’t check the waterproofing. You find out it failed when a stain shows up on the ceiling below, or the carpet outside the bathroom goes damp. By then the tiles have to come up.
So we do it properly at the start. Every wet area we work on is waterproofed to the Australian Standard: AS 3740 inside the house, and AS 4654 for balconies and other outdoor areas. You get a waterproofing certificate with every job.

The surface is cleaned, gaps are filled, and it’s primed so the membrane sticks.
Corners, joins and pipe holes are where leaks start, so they get reinforced first.
We coat the whole area to the heights the Standard requires and let each coat cure properly.
When the job is finished, you get the waterproofing certificate in writing.
One room or the whole house. We keep the place tidy, tell you what’s happening each day, and leave you with a finish you’re happy to look at.
→Doing up a bathroom or a kitchen? We work in with your builder, plumber and cabinet maker, and we turn up on the days we say.
→Shops, offices and apartments. The SWMS, OH&S plan and insurance are sorted before we start.

You get a waterproofing certificate with every job. Keep it with your house papers. If a builder, an insurer or a buyer ever asks whether the wet areas were done properly, you have it in writing.
