A balcony sits out in the sun, the rain and the cold all year. If the membrane under the tiles fails, the water goes into whatever is below it, and often that’s a room in your house.
We waterproof balconies, patios and alfresco areas to AS 4654, the Australian Standard for outdoor membranes above ground. Then we tile over it and seal the joints, and you get a waterproofing certificate at the end.
Water has to run off the balcony and away from the door. We check that first.
The surface is cleaned, cracks and joins are dealt with, and it’s primed.
The membrane goes on to AS 4654, with extra care at the edges, the door and the drain.
We tile over the cured membrane, seal the joints, and give you the certificate.
